Find the guide for your inverter.
Each inverter series has its own port and its own pins. Find the model on the inverter's rating plate, and choose the series below. Then you get the guide for exactly that one: the cable, the settings and each step with a drawing. What is the same for every inverter, such as power, WiFi and the dongle's own page, is described in Fitting the GridZeno Dongle.
Read the rating plate on the side of the inverter.
- Find the rating plate. It's a sticker on the side of the inverter with the manufacturer's name, the CE mark and the technical data.
- Read the Model line, sometimes called Model No. or Type. It's the inverter's full model designation.
- The series is the first letters. MOD 10KTL3-XH is a Growatt MOD, and X3-Hybrid-10.0-D is a SolaX X3-Hybrid. Choose that series below.
If you can't get to the sticker, the model is also shown in the inverter's display under system information and in the manufacturer's own app. Don't open the inverter's cabinet to find it.
Growatt
Growatt WIT: choose your version
WIT comes in seven versions, and they don't have the same ports. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate: the number with K and the suffix, e.g. WIT 10K-HU or WIT 10K-XHU. HU and XHU are different. The size on the card helps if the sticker is hard to read.
Growatt SPH: choose your version
SPH comes in several versions with different ports. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate: TL3 means three-phase, and the suffix BH-UP or BL-UP tells you which version it is. The older SPH TL3 BH and SPH 3000-6000 can't be used with GridZeno.
Growatt SPA: choose your version
SPA is connected to an existing solar system on the AC side and controls the battery. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate: only SPA TL3 BH-UP can be used with GridZeno. The older SPA TL3 BH and the single-phase SPA 1000-3000TL BL have no port for external control.
Growatt MIN: choose your version
MIN comes in several versions with different connectors. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate: the power and the suffix, e.g. MIN 5000TL-XH or MIN 8000TL-X2. TL-XH2 comes both with round connectors and with a block of six RJ45 ports on the underside, so check what yours has.
Growatt MOD: choose your version
MOD comes in several versions with different connectors. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate: the power and the suffix, e.g. MOD 10KTL3-XH or MOD 8000TL3-X2. XH has a wide 30-pin COM connector, X and X2 a round 16-pin one and X3 a round 4-pin one. HU has five RJ45 ports under a cover.
Growatt MIC: choose your version
MIC comes as TL-X and TL-X2. They have the same 8-pin signal connector and use the same guide; only the menu in the display is named slightly differently. Read the Model line on the rating plate, e.g. MIC 3000TL-X or MIC 3000TL-X2.
Growatt MID: choose your version
MID comes in several versions with different connectors. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate: the power and the suffix, e.g. MID 15KTL3-X, MID 20KTL3-X2 or MID 15KTL3-XH. Deye
Deye SUN-SG: choose your version
Deye SUN-SG comes in many versions. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate, e.g. SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU: the numbers after SG, and whether it says LP1 (single-phase), LP3 (three-phase, 48 V battery) or HP3 (three-phase, high-voltage battery). SUN-SG03LP1, SUN-SG05LP1-EU without a suffix and SUN-7.6/8K-SG01LP1 have no Modbus port and are connected over the network.

None of them has a port for external control, so all are connected over the network through Deye's Solarman logger. On the AM and BM versions, the logger is a Wi-Fi stick; on the CM versions, it's built in.
Deye SUN-M: choose your version
Deye SUN-M are microinverters that sit under the panels. Read the Model line on the rating plate, e.g. SUN-M80G4-EU-Q0. None of them has a cable port, so all are connected over the network through the built-in Wi-Fi logger. The size on the card helps if the sticker is hard to read.
SolaX
SolaX Hybrid: choose your version
SolaX's hybrid inverters come in several generations. Read the whole Model line on the rating plate, e.g. X1-Hybrid-5.0-D G4 or X3-HYB-10.0-P. X1 is single-phase and X3 three-phase. G4 has RS485 in the COM port and G4 PRO in the RS485 port in COM1. The older X1-Hybrid G3 and X3-Hybrid G2 are connected over the network. The size on the card helps if the sticker is hard to read.
