We started by controlling through the manufacturer's cloud. The cloud answered "success", and the inverter did nothing. That is why the dongle sits in the inverter and talks to it directly.

Does GridZeno fit my inverter?
Check our compatibility list. It's updated as we test more inverters. See the compatibility list.
Do I need a battery?
No. GridZeno also gives you an overview of solar production and electricity prices without a battery. Battery control naturally requires a compatible battery and an inverter that supports the actions needed. See what pays off without a battery.
Is it hard to set up?
You plug the dongle into the inverter's communication port, connect it to power and connect it to your network by Wi-Fi or cable. It takes 15-30 minutes, depending on the model. Some inverters have to be opened by an electrician, and the guide for your model tells you if yours does. See the whole journey.
Does GridZeno control my system entirely on its own?
Only if you choose it. The first time, Welcome asks whether GridZeno should control your system straight away or show you the plans first. You can switch to Manual at any time under Automatic. The whole plan is still calculated and shown, but the dongle doesn't control the inverter. Read about the control.
Does GridZeno work with Home Assistant?
Yes. GridZeno has its own integration, which you install from HACS. It talks directly to the dongle on your network and gives you the measurements, the counters for the energy dashboard, the plan and manual control on all subscriptions, and your prices and the solar forecast with Smart and Pro. See the Home Assistant guide.
How much can I save?
It depends on the system, battery, consumption, electricity contract and how much prices vary. We don't promise a particular amount. We explain where a gain can arise, and when it can't. See the calculation, or see what it gave on two real systems.
Can I get my system back as it was?
Yes. Set the control to Manual. Then an ongoing grid charge or hold stops, and the dongle puts the inverter's own settings back, including the charge limits it had before GridZeno changed them. After that, it changes nothing on the inverter. If you want to remove the dongle, set the control to Manual first, so the inverter isn't left in the middle of a charge.
