SolaX X1-Mini and X1-Boost G4 with GridZeno.
A grid inverter without a battery. GridZeno shows what it produces but can't control anything on it. Applies to X1-MINI 0.6-4.0K-G4, X1-MINI 5K/6K-G4-P (G4 Plus) and X1-BOOST 2.5-6K-G4.

How the inverter is controlled
The dongle reads the inverter and never writes anything to it.
- What GridZeno reads
- Solar production, and grid and consumption when there's an energy meter on the inverter.
- Battery
- None. The inverter is a grid inverter without a battery, so there's nothing to charge or sell from.
- Grid export
- SolaX' protocol has no export limit on this inverter, so GridZeno can't stop the sale.
What is special about the SolaX X1-Mini and X1-Boost G4
The serial number is in holding 0x300. XM4 and ZA4 are X1-Mini G4, XB4 is X1-Boost G4. The dongle reads the two the same way. The X1-Mini G4 Plus (5K and 6K-G4-P) has no public register map and isn't recognised yet.
- What the dongle reads
- Input 0x400-0x440 in one read: the meter in 0x409, the sun in 0x410-0x412, the run mode in 0x415 and the energy counters.
- Export limit
- None in SolaX' official maps. The inverter has a power limit, but it would also cut the house's own use of solar power and isn't used. All writes sit behind the password in 0x600.
- Rated power
- No table in any document, so it isn't read.
How it differs from its neighbours
- SolaX X1-Mini G3, X1-Boost G3, X1-Smart G1: The third generation, X1-Mini G3 and X1-Boost G3, is read in another range and can get the rated power from the machine type in 0x34E.
- SolaX X1-Smart G2: The X1-Smart G2 is read like the X1-Mini G4, but has three MPPTs and is connected in a terminal connector.
From the dongle's firmware and our notes on each inverter, not from the datasheet.
How to connect the dongle
Network cable with RJ45 plug. Approx. 25 minutes.
- Port
- COM/CT
- Pin
- A at pin 4 (485_A), B at pin 5 (485_B)
- Where
- On the underside of the inverter, next to the Dongle port. The port has a screw and a waterproof cable gland that the cable is passed through.
