SolaX X1-Mini G3, X1-Boost G3, X1-Smart G1 with GridZeno.
A grid inverter without a battery. GridZeno shows what it produces but can't control anything on it. Applies to X1-0.6-3.6K-S (Mini G3), X1-3.0-6K-T (Boost G3) and X1-6.0-8.0-T (Smart G1).

How the inverter is controlled
The dongle reads the inverter and never writes anything to it.
- What GridZeno reads
- Solar production, and grid and consumption when there's an energy meter on the inverter.
- Battery
- None. The inverter is a grid inverter without a battery, so there's nothing to charge or sell from.
- Grid export
- SolaX' protocol has no export limit on this inverter, so GridZeno can't stop the sale.
What is special about the SolaX X1-Mini G3, X1-Boost G3, X1-Smart G1
The serial number in holding 0x300 starts with, for example, XM2, XM3 or XMA (X1-Mini G3) or XB3, XBE or XBU (X1-Boost G3). The X1-Smart G1 has no public register map and isn't recognised yet.
- What the dongle reads
- Input 0x400-0x434, and the meter from 0x43B in a read of its own.
- Rated power
- From the machine type in 0x34E by the X1-Boost G3 map V1.0, which SolaX hasn't confirmed.
- Firmware
- On an X1-Boost G3 with ARM 1.37 the map ends at 0x434, so there's no meter and no grid or consumption. The dongle tries again every 10 minutes.
What the dongle allows for
- Older firmware swaps the bytes of the serial number in 0x300. The dongle reads it both ways.
How it differs from its neighbours
- SolaX X1-Mini and X1-Boost G4: The fourth generation, X1-Mini and X1-Boost G4, is read in the range 0x400-0x440, and the dongle can't read the rated power.
From the dongle's firmware and our notes on each inverter, not from the datasheet.
How to connect the dongle
Network cable with RJ45 plug. Approx. 25 minutes.
- Port
- RS485/Meter (RJ45)
- Pin
- A at pin 4 (485_A), B at pin 5 (485_B), GND at pin 3 (GND_COM)
- Where
- On the underside of the inverter. SolaX calls it RS485/CT/Meter/DRM on X1-Mini G3, port F on X1-Boost G3 and RS485/Meter/DRM on X1-Smart G1. The port has a screw or a waterproof connector that the cable is passed through.
