The dongle controls the battery with the inverter's operating mode.

Charge, hold and sell

The inverter is set to the user-defined mode with the battery's power. The plan's target and floor are written to the inverter's limits while the command is active.

Back afterwards

The dongle saves your own mode and puts it back afterwards. It only takes over from self-consumption or backup.

ASW TH

The battery is read but not controlled yet.

Stop selling at negative prices

The inverter's output is set quarter by quarter by the selling price, but only where the installer has turned the limit on. Solplanet's limit applies to the inverter's whole output, not just the sale to the grid. The dongle sets the installer's value back afterwards.

Manual

When the control is on Manual, the dongle changes nothing on the inverter. It reads, and if GridZeno has changed something, it puts the inverter's own settings back, including your own charge limits.

The storage block from input 1600 can be read, so it's a hybrid. The battery is there when 1606 is 0x000A, and a second battery when 31740 is 0x000A.

When the dongle takes over

Only from self use (2) or backup (3), and not while storage is switched off (41102 = 1). Your mode is saved and put back.

If the dongle goes quiet

The command is a stored setting and doesn't expire. With protocol V2.1.4 or newer, the plan's target is in 41154 and the floor in 41155, so the inverter stops there by itself. V2.1.1 doesn't have them.

ASW TH

No command: mode 4 is a full-power charge on the TH, and 41153 isn't held. The battery is read.

What the dongle allows for

• An ASW10kH-T3 reads 41153 as 0x8000 at rest.
• The documents give the charge level in 0.01 %, but real units send whole per cent. The dongle decides it from the battery's state of health (SOH).
• Zero export in 41114 is shown as a limit of 0 and is never changed.
• A command that can't be confirmed is removed in the same round. If 41153 reads 0xFFFF, the run mode isn't used any more.

How it differs from its neighbours

• Solplanet SH 2-6 kW with RS485 cable: The SH 2-6 kW is controlled the same way, but is single-phase and is connected in the Monitor port CN710 with pins 7, 8 and 3.
• Solplanet hybrid: Through the Ai-Logger the battery can't be controlled.

For the installer: the registers

What the dongle uses over Modbus, if you want to follow along or troubleshoot. Don't change the registers yourself while control is set to Automatic.

Control

Run mode 41104 = 4 and the power in 41153 (W, minus is charging). Target and floor in 41154 and 41155 in 0.01 %.

Meter

41108-41113, the power in 41112-41113 (plus is buying).

Identity

Input 1000-1029: 1000 is 3 on a three-phase unit, the model is in 1018-1025 and the rated power in 1027-1028. The model code in 31073: 1-5 are grid inverters, 11-16 hybrids.

Export limit

44001 is the installer's switch, 45403 the limit in 0.01 % of the rated power.

On the communication board behind the inverter's communication cover. On the H-T2 and H-T3 it is RJ45 port 3 (COM2), on the DG port 3 just above the TCP/IP port, on the SH 8-10 kW CN707, which the cable reaches through the cable gland COM1 behind the lower front cover, and on the TH CN407 (COM3).
