Compatibility · Ready for GridZeno
SolaX X3-MIC with GridZeno.
A grid inverter without a battery. GridZeno shows what it produces but can't control anything on it. Applies to X3-MIC 3-15K-G2.

- Live overview of solar, consumption and gridAll subscriptions · Grid and consumption require an energy meter on the inverter and a firmware that shows it. Otherwise solar production only.Works
- Battery state of chargeAll subscriptions · requires a battery · The grid inverter has no battery. Not possible
- Stop selling at negative pricesSmart and Pro · SolaX' protocol has no export limit on this inverter. Not possible
- Charge from the grid when power is cheapSmart and Pro · requires a batteryNot possible
- Discharge the battery when power is expensivePro · requires a batteryNot possible
Works: tested and measured on real hardware.
02
How the inverter is controlled
The dongle reads the inverter and never writes anything to it.
- What GridZeno reads
- Solar production, and grid and consumption when there's an energy meter on the inverter.
- Battery
- None. The inverter is a grid inverter without a battery, so there's nothing to charge or sell from.
- Grid export
- SolaX' protocol has no export limit on this inverter, so GridZeno can't stop the sale.
Manual means no switching
When the control is on Manual, GridZeno calculates the plan and shows it, but changes nothing on the inverter.
03
What is special about the SolaX X3-MIC
The serial number in holding 0x300 starts with, for example, MC806T, MU806T, MC106T, MC203T-MC215T or PU: X3-MIC G2.
- What the dongle reads
- Input 0x400-0x434 and the meter from 0x43B. The rated power is read from the machine type in 0x34E by the X3 table in SolaX' V1.9.
- The grid
- The X3-MIC G2 got the meter in firmware ARM 1.06.
- Export limit
- None. In SolaX' V1.9, register 0x604 is the grid's over-voltage limit, not an export limit, and all writes need the password in 0x600.
How it differs from its neighbours
- SolaX X3-PRO: The X3-PRO G2 is read the same way, but is connected in an RS485 terminal connector instead of an RJ45 port.
From the dongle's firmware and our notes on each inverter, not from the datasheet.
04
How to connect the dongle
Network cable with RJ45 plug. Approx. 25 minutes.
- Port
- RS485 terminal
- Pin
- A at pin 4 (RS485_A), B at pin 5 (RS485_B)
- Where
- On the underside of the inverter, behind a protective cover. The cable is passed through the waterproof connector with RJ45 from the accessory bag.
