SolaX X1-Hybrid G3 with GridZeno.
GridZeno shows the system and the battery charge level and lowers the export limit at negative prices. The battery can't be controlled on the third generation. Applies to X1-Hybrid-3.0-5.0 G3 (N and D, E, I and C).

How the inverter is controlled
GridZeno reads the inverter and the battery and can lower the export limit.
- The battery
- The state of charge is shown, but SolaX' third generation has no remote control, so the battery runs by the inverter's own settings.
- Stop selling at negative prices
- The inverter's export limit is set quarter by quarter by the selling price, but only where the installer has turned export limiting on. GridZeno only lowers a limit that's already set and never turns it on or off.
- Manual
- When the control is on Manual, the dongle changes nothing on the inverter. It reads, and if GridZeno has changed something, it puts the inverter's own settings back, including your own charge limits.
What is special about the SolaX X1-Hybrid G3
The start of the serial number in holding 0x00: H1E, H1I, HCC, HUE or XRE.
- The export limit
- Only when the rated power is in the serial number, characters 3-4 (H1E37 is 3.7 kW). Written in 0x42 in 1 W.
- The battery
- The charge level is read. Remote control needs SolaX' document "Modbus TCP X1&X3 G3 V3.19", which isn't public, and the work mode in 0x1F isn't written.
What the dongle allows for
- Neither protocol, firmware nor rated power can be read in registers on the third generation.
How it differs from its neighbours
- SolaX X1/X3 Hybrid G4: The fourth generation has remote control, so the battery can be charged and sold from by the plan.
From the dongle's firmware and our notes on each inverter, not from the datasheet.
How to connect the dongle
Over your network, without a cable to the inverter. Approx. 25 minutes. Needs an electrician: the inverter has to be opened.
- Connection
- COM (network port, LAN)
- Where
- Inside the inverter behind the cable gland marked COM on the underside, between CAN/GEN and DRM/Meter. The cable runs from there to your router.
